Summer Empowerment Academy — Howard University

Born out of his love for working with and inspiring young people, Hill Harper founded the Manifest Your Destiny Foundation (MYD) as a resource for at-risk youth. The vision of MYD is to enhance, engage, empower and inspire youth towards a future of achievement, fulfillment and happiness.


The foundation's flagship program is the Summer Empowerment Academy, a one-week summer program for rising 9th graders. During this time, participants are exposed to higher education while taking courses focusing on academic strategies, leadership development and business & entrepreneurship.
